A Beach Party Tribute to Jimmy Buffett

The album is this Parrot Head’s tribute to one of my all time musical and lifestyle heroes, Jimmy Buffett. For those of you who may be visiting Margaritaville for the first time, a Parrot Head is the nickname for an avid Buffett fan. I have been a Parrot Head since the first time I heard “Margaritaville” on the radio in 1977. Jimmy’s tongue in cheek and comedic songwriting style has been a major inspiration to my own approach to music, as illustrated in the two new songs I wrote for this project, “Life’s a Beach” and “Shrimp Happens.” Another of my originals, “This Pirate’s Turing Sixty,” was a also inspired by Jimmy and written just a couple of years ago when I turned 60. Okay more like a decade ago but who’s counting?

So go mix yourself a Margarita or grab a Cerveza and have some fun with “Life’s a Beach.”
